Endless pursuit
No end line in sight,
We just keep chasing.
Each achievement, a fleeting moment,
But when will it be enough?
Will we ever find contentment,
Or forever pursue an illusion?
Why do we engage in this rat race?
What are we striving for?
Are we trading the joy of the present
For a blissful future that may never arrive?
Is ambition a blessing or a curse—
A relentless force that consumes us?
Does wanting more only feed
The insatiable hunger within us?
Perhaps it’s time to pause,
To question the cause.
This endless pursuit—
The pursuit of contentment.
Recently, I passed an important exam after months of intense preparation. While I felt proud in the moment, it was quickly followed by an unexpected emptiness. Instead of savoring the achievement, I found myself swept up in the start of another race, chasing the next milestone.
That experience made me question the whole process. Why do we often sacrifice present joy in the hope of a future that’s never guaranteed? It’s discouraging to feel like we’re running in circles, but I’ve come to realize that it’s okay to pause and reflect. Questioning isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s a step toward clarity and growth.
Nothing in life comes with absolute certainty, and that’s okay. As a curious soul, I know I’ll keep questioning, and through that, I’ll find even stronger answers.
Here’s to embracing the power of questioning and learning to find joy not just in the destination, but in the journey itself.
