Are Soulmates Real?

Sometimes life catches you off guard. You meet someone whose soul feels like it was always meant to sit alongside yours. Suddenly, you feel seen in a way that is beautiful and undeniable. You can be yourself: messiness, flaws, and all, they still understand. There is no need to apologize, no need to pretend.

It is a beautiful feeling. Yet while you are caught in that joy, a quiet question rises: how long will this last?

Is it selfish to want it forever? Is it fragile to hope the connection never fades? Maybe. Or maybe it is simply human.

Sometimes, you recognize yourself in another person. Not because you are the same, but because they honor your similarities and embrace your differences. It feels like discovering a hidden piece of yourself in someone else.

This friendship has been a gift, a source of gratitude and growth. Through it, I have learned more about my own layers, and also about theirs, and even about the world around us. It is a rare joy to know a soul that just clicks.

Perhaps this is what companionship truly means: to cherish someone’s presence, to marvel at the way your lives weave together, to treasure each shared moment while it is here.

Maybe soulmates are not always about forever. Maybe they are about the connection that exists in this very moment, a reminder of what it feels like to be understood.

So instead of worrying about how long it will last, I choose to be thankful. To enjoy the gift of connection, whether it stays or slips away. And even if it does not last, I will remain grateful, because having known it at all is enough.
