Welcome to my blog

Hey there,

I'm SJ, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to my little corner of the internet. Think of this as my digital journal—a space where I can share my thoughts, ideas, and reflections with you. For now, I’m choosing to keep details like my full name, occupation, and hometown under wraps (ironic, isn’t it?). That’s because I believe we’re so much more than the labels society assigns us. Here, I want to focus on exploring the deeper, universal aspects of life.

Starting a blog feels a bit out of character for me. I’ve always been more comfortable with pen and paper, pouring my thoughts into private journals rather than putting them out for the world to see. If you’ve ever thought of me as an "introvert," let me say this: I’ve come to realize that labels—no matter how well-meaning—can confine us. People are far too dynamic and multifaceted to be summed up by a single word.

This first post is intentionally raw and unpolished because I want to keep things spontaneous. If you catch a typo or two, consider it part of the charm!

Who am I? I’d describe myself as an endlessly curious soul. I’m always pondering the big questions about life: Why are we here? What’s our purpose? How do our values and dreams shape us? Existential crises are my natural habitat, and some of my favorite moments are spent under a starry sky, with a cool breeze as my companion. Oh, and I’m a big music lover, too—it’s one of my truest joys.

So, why this blog? It was sparked by a quote that deeply resonated with me:

“In the name of being yourself, don’t forget to become something more.”

That line stopped me in my tracks. I realized that staying comfortably “myself” had also meant staying stagnant. I hadn’t tried enough new things or ventured beyond my comfort zone. This blog is my way of breaking free, documenting my explorations, and inviting you along for the ride.

There’s no set theme here yet. You might find original prose, essays, or snippets of my life as SJ. Maybe even a few experimental recipes or book reviews. I’m keeping it open-ended, much like life itself.

If anything I share resonates with you, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments. Feedback is welcome—just be kind! hehe

P.S. I have a sneaking suspicion that future-me will look back at this post and laugh at how tentative I was. If that’s you, future-me: Hi! And to you, dear reader, let’s laugh together and embrace this beautifully messy thing called life.

Thank you for stopping by.

Warmly,
SJ
